Getting There
There are a number of people travelling from the Greater Manchester area. If you're looking for a space in a car or taxi, or have a spare space going, please let us know and we can try and match you up to help save on fuel and cost!
Rail
The closest train station to the venue is Congleton Train Station which has direct trains to it from Manchester Piccadilly, Macclesfield and Stoke-on-Trent. Change at Stoke-on-Trent for trains from London.
Buses
Buses from Congleton Station
To get a bus from Congleton Station, you will need to catch the 94 and then change onto the 38. The 94 finishes around 6:30pm so this is not an option on return. The best alternative is a Taxi back to Congleton Station.
Buses to/from Macclesfield Station
There is a bus stop outside the venue where the 38 bus can be taken to and from Macclesfield with a 6 minute walk from the bus stop to Macclesfield train station. The last bus leaves the Venue around 10:50pm (please check the schedule on the day if you are planning to leave via bus!).
Taxis
There are plenty of taxis or private hire services available in the area including Uber and Bolt, as well as the venue recommended taxi firm A Stars Taxis (01260 280 280).
Driving
The venue has free parking with plenty of spaces and is easily accessible along the A536. It is around a 40 minute drive from South Manchester.
Driving from the North
Approaching from Manchester, you will drive down the A34, continuing until you reach Quarry Roundabout where you should take the first exit for Macclesfield along the A536. Take the first exit at the next round about shortly after and the venue will be your first left after this very shortly after. Take the left for school lane where you will see the front of the Plough Inn on your left and turn left again into the car park.
Approaching from the North, going South down Congleton Lane (the A536), continue until you see a sign saying 'Welcome to Eaton' just before the 40mph speed limit change. There are a couple of terraced cottages on the left shortly after with a red post box in the wall at the end and very soon after you will come across a slightly more built up area. The venu is the first road on the right (after the two driveways). Continue across School Lane into the car park (you should see the venue on your left).
Driving from the South
Approaching from the South along the M6, exit at junction 17, follow the A534 until you reach Wall Hill roundabout. Take the first exit for the A536 to Macclesfield. Continue on the A536 until you reach Eaton Bank roundabout. Take the first exit to stay on the A536 and the venue will be your first left shortly after. Take the left for school lane where you will see the front of the Plough Inn on your left and turn left again into the car park.
Approaching from the M1 and A50, turn right at the end of the A50 onto the A500 going towards Stoke-on-Trent. Continue on the A536 until you see the sign of Congleton, A34. Take the exit and take the third exit at the roundabout and straight at the roundabout immediately after. Continue along the A34, turning right onto Congleton Road to stay on the A34. Continue following signs for the A34 until you reach Eaton Bank roundabout where you should take the second exit for Macclesfield, A536 (not counting the blocked off exit). The venue will be your first left shortly after. Take the left for school lane where you will see the front of the Plough Inn on your left and turn left again into the car park.
Flights
The closest airport is Manchester Airport. There are great transport links from the airport via train, tram, bus or taxi.
Note that there are pick up (from £6.40) and drop off (from £5.00) fees at the airport. They have now removed the barriers for drop off and pick up at T2 and payment must be made online by midnight the following day. You can pay here. Pick up for T1 and T3 can be made at the barrier with card or exact change.
Do make sure you or the person collecting/dropping you off knows where exactly they are going (for example put drop off terminal 3 into the google maps not just Manchester airport) and follow the signs carefully, as if you drive into the wrong area or terminal by accident you will have to pay twice to go to the correct area (do not pick up in a drop off or you will get fined!).
Walking
Please do not attempt to walk to the venue. It is along an A-road with very fast cars, no pavements and no streetlamps at night. If you have any issues on the day with getting home from the venue, please speak to a member of the wedding party who will be able to help!
If you have any questions or need any help with getting to or from the venue before the big day, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us via niamhandoliver@outlook.com.
